Edit

summary

last update (of summary): 10-29-09

  • #1 - need to diagnose and repair power fets.
  • #5 - repair complete. bench test completed. seems good.
  • #8 - working / available (used for lifefixture)
  • #9 - installed in S3 - likely damaged

All BOARDS require Coin cell charger circuit

FET 2x0-217 PCA (power board)

200-217-001

  • 10-27-09 : power FET still missing - board needs to be repaired.
  • 3-28-09 : removed from AK-WB2 w/exploded power FET

todo

  • test other power fets (safety fets are on and will complicate this.)
  • if all other tests are positive, apply 10 volts with a 100mA current limit
  • if successful, attach to state controller with "testjig" software build and apply 20V limited to 200mA
  • if successful replace missing FET and repeat above power tests.

200-217-002

  • 8-6-09 : running overnight stress test (+5a, -5a, +5, -5, 3sec off)
  • 8-??-09 : received from MPD

200-217-003

  • 4-27-09 : requires new board testing.

  • 8-20-09 : fet exploded

200-217-005

  • 10-29-09 : CA replaced all power mosfets, and R4 again. Ran ~2hr bench test, and CEB verified clamp operations. Seems to be in good status.
  • 10-28-09 : CA replaced Q2,Q3 ; replaced R4 (1ohm power resistor). Later found short under R4.
  • 10-17-09 : verified that R88 is < 0.2mV -> <20nA yet still 453 mV on D13
  • 10-17-09 : experimented w/coin cell measurement both w/AC enable on and off. Verified that Q16 is open (TP105=5.4V, TP104=0) and still D13 has drop,
  • 10-17-09 : Removed D21 and D22, replace D13 with known Diode's Inc BAS116-7-F (SOT23) - DS claims 1uA ~200mV, but always 450mV for I<1uA
    • BAS116 - other DS suggest 450mV at 1uA, so Diode's INC DS is like wrong : [1] ; [2] ; [3] ; [4]
  • 10-17-09 : coin cells 5.490V, B2.745V B2=2.745, D13 = 456mV, R88 = 0mV
  • 9-16-09 : appears to have short circuit during boot sequence w/out motor. has been used to develop the life fixture code, and run the motor during over night tests.
  • 8-27-09 : CEB partial repair of 3-1-09 incident : replaced PFET, unable to remove 1ohm power resistor
  • 6-26-09 : location CEB lab - used for code dev.
  • 6-26-09 : 5.52 volts on coin cells, dR=0.3mV, dD=427mV iD = 0.3uA. Based on BAS116-7-F datasheet, dD should be <200mV (w/Id=1uA)
  • 6-13-09 : added coin cell recharger circuit. not confident it will charge the batteries.
    • before installed - cell voltages : 2.639, 2.628 total 5.270
    • across R35=2.3mV; across D13=620mV; LDO output=5.955V.
    • later measured R35=34mV, D13=600mV
    • MA621 charge circuit is 3.1V into 1k into cell. Should probably increase LDO output to at least 6.2V possibly 6.3 or 6.4V. Need see what the diode drop looks like. VoutLDO=1.24 * (1+R1/R2)=6.006 as designed.
  • 3-1-09 : Vclamp circuit failed (permanently on) when MPJA power supplied failed.

todo

  • replace PFET and power resistor

200-217-006

  • 4-2-09 : offsets 3001, 2990
  • 4-2-09 : started bench test at 3:20 am, completed 2pm - works well

200-217-007

  • 10-17-09 : coin cell 5.524V then 5.530 after a few sec, BT3=2.758, BT2=2.774 -> 15mV out of balance
  • 9-16-09 : ceb powers, no AC enable light
  • 4-6-09 : started bench test at 2:10 am
  • 4-6-09 : offsets 2914, 2823
  • 4-6-09 : 9:15pm ended test successfully, wiport had disconnected and needs power cylce to reconnect.

ECOs

  • 10-17-09 : D13 missing, requires that coin cell ECO be verified.

200-217-008

  • 10-27-09 : used for several weeks on lifefixture. removed for bench run in testing.
  • 8-20-09 : RC notices ???

200-217-009

  • 4-1-09 : removed from WB1 - possibly damaged
  • 3-28-09 : measured battery voltage at zero and 1.8 volts
  • 3-28-09 : measured terminal to terminal resistance of safety FETs, 38 and 72 ohms
  • 3-1-09 : safety fets are not engaged.

todo

  • replace coin cells (use adhesive to secure batteries to PCA)

200-217-010

  • 4-6-09 : 25amp benchtest for 30 mis with 218-005
  • 4-2-09 : measured coin cells at 2.7++ each.
  • 4-2-09 : bench test for 1.5 hrs with 218-010

ECOs

Coin cell charge voltage

  • replace 1.12Meg resistor w/1.21Meg
  • confirm that LDO voltage is 6.3V +- 0.1V (document in the history file this voltage.)
