Identification

  • Board is labeled "medialab/pid1.pcb REV0"
  • Board design date 021605

Known Problems

  • FERR and FOUT LEDs labels need to be swapped
  • The TEST POINT header has the P - I - D signals miss labeled the correct order is "Ferr, Fout, Fp, Fd, Fi" instead of "Ferr,Fout, Fd, Fi, Fp"
  • Both the PID and POT boards are running hot - hotter than I would like.
  • The OPA4134s use 16-20mA per package. This (plus the LEDs) largely explains the 47mA used by the PID board. At +-12V the opamp quiescent current causes 42C rise in the packages.
  • The range of the gain adjustment for each of the P, I, D terms doesn't seem adequate
  • The P,I,D signals are amplified and mixed in the same stage - and so the amplified signals can't be viewed.
